The Prince of goth Returns to NYC
UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that, following Peter Murphy’s full recovery from his heart attack, we have rescheduled the remaining shows of the NYC residency for January 2020.
If you already purchased a ticket for one of the originally scheduled dates in August 2019, then there is no further action needed on your part. Your original ticket will be honored for the newly rescheduled date for the corresponding show.
We thank you for your patience with this postponement and look forward to seeing you in January.
For over 40 years, Peter Murphy has been the archetypal voice, look, and spirit of goth music. From his early days as the frontman of the iconic Bauhaus to his ten solo albums, dark music has had few figures more influential than the Northamptonshire native.
After a successful residency at The Chapel in San Francisco, Peter is ready to bring his legacy to the East Coast. Nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s historic Greenwich Village, (le) poisson rouge will host the icon for eleven nights of dark wonder. Each show will feature a different studio album performed in its entirety along with a greatest hits show, a set of Bauhaus songs, and a tribute to David Bowie.
This is a unique opportunity to see a musical legend celebrate his entire catalog in an intimate venue in Manhattan.

(Le) Poisson Rouge is a multimedia art cabaret founded by musicians on the site of the historic Village Gate. Dedicated to the fusion of popular and art cultures in music, film, theater, dance, and fine art, the venue’s mission is to revive the symbiotic relationship between art and revelry; to establish a creative asylum for both artists and audiences.
LPR prides itself in offering the highest quality eclectic programming, impeccable acoustics, and bold design. The state-of-the art performance space, engineered by the legendary John Storyk/WSDG, offers full flexibility in multiple configurations: seated, standing, in-the-round, and numerous alternative arrangements. The adjoining gallery space — The Gallery at LPR — functions as an art gallery, secondary bar, and event space. A work of art itself, the physical facilities are the embodiment of the experimental philosophy that drives the venue.
